Avayasa (Acrylic)
Avayasa by Mandakini is a depiction of the eternal strength of a woman and the spirit to live a life free of boundaries. The term can loosely be translated to independent or unrestrained. The raw contrast of the long hair and flower in the hair versus the translucent sari cloth and the bare back of the character speaks of the modern woman’s battle against being pigeon-holed to having certain roles.
